Life Lessons from the

Life of Yogananda:

How to be a Yogi in the World

Phil Goldberg, Sat. July 21, 11-1pm, $25

Whatever your religion or chosen path, if you seek union with the Divine, you are a yogi.  But the path of development toward spiritual realization can be challenging and confusing in the modern world, with all its demands and distractions. In this workshop, Philip Goldberg draws upon nearly 50 years of experience as a teacher and author to help us navigate the tricky, often paradoxical path to Unity Consciousness. We will dive deeply into the nuances of living what one master called “200% of life”—100% spiritual and 100% material—and we will take home potent meditative practices that will accelerate our spiritual progress on an ongoing basis. Our principal role model for this journey will be the legendary Paramahansa Yogananda, whose biography Philip spent years researching and writing. Don’t be deterred by the word “yoga”: there will be no stretching or bending—except of our minds.

Philip Goldberg has studied India’s spiritual traditions for over 45 years, as practitioner, teacher, and writer. The author of numerous books, including the award-winning American Veda and the new biography The Life of Yogananda. He blogs at Spirituality & Health, cohosts the podcast “Spirit Matters,” and leads American Veda Tours.
