Zoom Event! Make Every Move A Meditation Book Launch Event with Nita Sweeney; in conversation with Sherry Belul
Friday, October 7th, 5:30 pm, FREE!
What do you think of when you hear the word meditation? A quiet room filled with monks? An Instagram influencer? What about moving meditation? Yoga? Tai Chi? For too long, meditation in books has focused on specific periods of meditation, rather than mediation through fitness or daily activities. What if lifting weights, dancing with your love, or walking across a room counted? What if you could use exercise as meditation? What if you could make every move a meditation? Award-winning author, certified meditation leader, ultra-marathoner, and mental health advocate Nita Sweeney will teach audience members how to meditate while they move.
Nita Sweeney is the award-winning wellness author of the running and mental health memoir, Depression Hates a Moving Target: How Running with My Dog Brought Me Back from the Brink and co-creator of the writing journal, You Should Be Writing: A Journal of Inspiration & Instruction to Keep Your Pen Moving. Her upcoming book, Make Every Move a Meditation ( available for preorder https://bookshop.org/books/make-every-move-a-meditation-mindful-movement-for-mental-health-well-being-and-insight/9781642509892 ), was featured in the Wall Street Journal. Nita lives in central Ohio with her husband, Ed, and their yellow Labrador retriever, Scarlet. Zoom Event! Astrology of the Liminal - the Journey of Death & Rebirth
Vanessa Couto, Monday, October 17, 24 & 31, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Pacific Time), $25/each class or all 3 for $60
We're living in very liminal times, where our old ways of being and doing no longer serve, while the new is yet to root down. Feeling lost, confused, and unsure about how to proceed under the intensity of all this transformation is expected. Liminal times such as these are times of descent into what the ancients called the Underworld, the realm of death and rebirth. For the ancients, it would be unwise to descend without preparation or guidance. The intention for this class series is to explore with you this landscape, the stages of initiation, and how we can honor the planetary archetypes that serve as our guides. This class series is for anyone trying to understand their path of transformation while also making sense through the archetypal lens of what is taking place in the collective. *This series will not be recorded.
In this 3-part class series, we'll explore:
The Descent & the Landscape of the Underworld - knowing why and how we should approach the descent and what is the geography if this powerful symbolic landscape can help us feel more prepared to engage with the unknown.
The Stages and Phases of Initiation - In the eternal circle of beginnings and endings, death and rebirth there's a certain pattern flow that can help us understand where we stand and how to honor the stage we're traversing.
The Alchemical Gatekeepers at the Threshold - In the final class of this series, we explore the spiral of transformation from the lens of alchemy and the planetary archetypes that serve as our guides on the journey.
