Etermal OmEternal Om
by Robert Slap
Robert Slap synthesizes the voices of many people as well as electronic technology to create a masterful work of art. The word "om" is a Sanskrit word that gives a voice to the sound of the universe's vibration. In meditation the word "om" is used to help center and clear the mind so that the whole body and mind can become more consious. Eternal Om is a great CD to use for a meditation practice, for massage therapists, or just as a calming piece of music after a long stressful day. Reviewed by Cara Goodwin

The Pilgrim HeartThe Pilgrim Heart
by Krishna Das
He's an American who learned the Indian style of devotional chanting in India while living with his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba, often chanting all day. On this delightful recording he has put together an irresistable collection of bhajans that convey the bliss of dynamic, no-holds-barred kirtan, or chanting, with help from a stellar collection of musicians and singers, including Sting. It is the most infectious, accessible chant recording I have heard in a long time, which is why it became an overnight bestseller here. Reviewed by Lakshmana Simpson

The Pilgrim HeartDreaming in Real Time
by Shanti Shanti
The artists are Andrea and Sara Forman, sisters who have been singing together since childhood. In Dreaming in Real Time they have blended together their youthful obsession and passion for Sanskrit, the ancient language of India, with new age music. Both young women were fluent in the language before they were in their teens. They perform for sold-out crowds, chanting ancient chants in the way they were intended, with the resonance of two voices powerfully intertwined. The heart of the universe is in Sanskrit and with one listen to Dreaming in Real Time, your heart will open to Shanti Shanti.
